OUR MISSION
The mission of Pine Knot Primary School is to cooperatively educate all students and extend their skills to become productive members of society. We believe all student have the ability and the responsibility to be purposeful, active learners. We are committed to having high expectations of our students and are dedicated to providing positive experiences and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to encourage students, parents, and staff to work cooperatively together in order to create a collaborative community of active learners.

Petition for Kindergarten Early Enrollment
A child who becomes five (5) by August 1 may enter primary school and may advance through the primary program without regard to age. However, if they have not reached the age of five (5) by August 1, but you (parent) believe they are Kindergarten Ready, please click on the link below, complete the form, and return it to your local McCreary County elementary school or the McCreary County Board of Education by April 1, 2026. PUBLIC NOTICE
IDEA Private School Representative & Title I and Federal Program Planning Committee Meeting
McCreary County Schools will hold a meeting for IDEA Private School Representatives and the Title I and Federal Program Planning Committee on January 15, 2026, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at the McCreary County Board Office.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the participation of private school students in federally funded programs and to gather input for the 2025–2026 school year. Available service options and equitable services for eligible private school students under IDEA will also be reviewed.
In addition, it will include an overview of Title I, required parent and family engagement set-aside funds, school parent and family engagement policies, school consolidated improvement plans (CSIPs), school–parent compacts, parents’ right to know, procedures for requesting teacher qualifications, and a review of parent and family survey results. All local private school administrators and representatives are invited and encouraged to attend, as well as parents and community members.
