OUR MISSION
The mission of Pine Knot Primary School is to cooperatively educate all students and extend their skills to become productive members of society. We believe all student have the ability and the responsibility to be purposeful, active learners. We are committed to having high expectations of our students and are dedicated to providing positive experiences and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to encourage students, parents, and staff to work cooperatively together in order to create a collaborative community of active learners.

The McCreary County School Board met 9/3/26 and adopted the proposed property tax rates that were previously proposed in the ad below from the 8/11/26 board meeting. The rates that were adopted include 35.8 on real property and 37.8 cents on personal property. The motor vehicle rate of 46.7 was also adopted.

District: 401 McCreary County - School Year: 2026 - 2027 Tax Notification
The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2026 was 35.8 cents on real property and 37.8 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $2,234,910.97. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 35.8 cents on real property and 37.8 cents on personal property is expected to produce $2,406,674. Of this amount, $384,138.36 is from new and personal property. The compensating tax for 2027 is 34.5 cents on real property and 37.8 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $2,329,159.49.
The proposed rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. The general areas to which revenue of $171,763.03 above 2026 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $5,152.89; building fund, $41,652.53; instruction, $41,652.54; transportation, $41,652.54; and maintenance of plant, $41,652.53.
