OUR MISSION
The mission of Pine Knot Primary School is to cooperatively educate all students and extend their skills to become productive members of society. We believe all student have the ability and the responsibility to be purposeful, active learners. We are committed to having high expectations of our students and are dedicated to providing positive experiences and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to encourage students, parents, and staff to work cooperatively together in order to create a collaborative community of active learners.

LEGAL NOTICE – REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
The McCreary County School District is accepting sealed proposals from qualified, licensed, and insured contractors for the demolition of a vacant school building located at 30 Smithtown School Road, Smithtown, KY. Work includes full demolition, off-site disposal of all debris, site grading, and site stabilization. All asbestos abatement has been previously completed. A non-mandatory site visit will be held June 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM EST at the McCreary County Board of Education, 120 Raider Way, Stearns, KY. Sealed bids marked “DEMOLITION SERVICES” must be submitted to the McCreary County Board of Education, Attn: Melanie Pitman, 120 Raider Way, Stearns, KY 42647, no later than June 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST. Late, emailed, or faxed bids will not be accepted. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities. Officials bid forms can be found on the McCreary County Schools website https://www.mccreary.k12.ky.us in the “School News Section” or for pickup at the board of education. Petition for Kindergarten Early Enrollment
A child who becomes five (5) by August 1 may enter primary school and may advance through the primary program without regard to age. However, if they have not reached the age of five (5) by August 1, but you (parent) believe they are Kindergarten Ready, please click on the link below, complete the form, and return it to your local McCreary County elementary school or the McCreary County Board of Education by April 1, 2026.
